Mission Statement:

At Wine Cellar Depot, we are passionate about providing wine storage solutions for any budget and any style.  We are dedicated to a more light-hearted approach to doing business.  We strive to offer a comprehensive selection of well respected brand names associated with cellaring and collecting wine.  Our objective is to be a valuable resource to our clients and the wine community by providing exceptional customer service and value. To fulfill this mission, we are committed to building and maintaining relationships with our clientele based on integrity and trust.

Ramona and Michael’s Most Excellent Adventure:

Wine Cellar Depot began its remarkable journey in my father’s wine shop in 2003.  We recognized a niche in the BC wine storage market that was not being fulfilled.  Talk about living the dream if you love the wine business with all its happy members collecting and drinking lots of wine (I’ve tested and mastered this “lots” part myself)!

We started with a single product, the Tuscany Plus by Vintage Keeper.  My dearest friend, Shauna Hansen, a wine marketing guru and founder of Vintage West Wine Marketing, had one at home.  I was intrigued by the value this could add to our clients from the store.  I called Vintage Keeper and started the process of signing up as an authorized dealer.  I knew nothing about cooling equipment but I enjoy drinking wine.  Enough of a prerequisite I guess to get me on the books!  We sold tons of them. 

Many of our clients began asking for other products like racking and cooling systems for wine rooms.  They were having a hard time finding anything locally so we researched and found more brands to satisfy their requests.  Business grew.  My dad’s frustration grew right along with it.  I’m not sure why he had an issue with me storing product in the electrical room (don’t tell anyone) and in every spare place available.  It made good sense to me.  We’d outgrown the staff bathroom.  I guess it was inevitable we had to move on.

In 2005, we left my family’s wine shop to go it alone.  Michael agreed to be a stay at home dad and handle shipping and receiving with his assistants:  our new baby boy, 4 year old daughter and Buffy the cocker spaniel.  Our business continued to expand and by 2007 we acquired our current 40,000 sq. ft facility at the doorstep of Vancouver, British Columbia (and one more baby girl).  It continues to be a bunch of fun and we have our fabulous, supportive clients to thank. 

We now sell virtually every brand name for cellaring solutions going.  Everything from our original Vintage Keeper to Eurocave, Cavavin, Vinotheque, Le Cache, La Vieille Garde, Breezaire, Wine Guardian, Onam, you name it.  I even know a thing or two about them.  And, we are always open to carrying new brands and items to aid in your collecting. 

We are still a family business and always will be.  Our staffs are part of our extended family and share our passion for quality products, service, and having lots of laughs along the way.  Come and visit us any time.  We can’t wait to meet you (and BYOB)!
